Prepare your home for the internet and television of the modern generation
Nowadays, data connectivity is a fundamental pillar of every household. When planning a project, it is essential to consider the cable connection for routers, smart TVs, computers, cameras, smart central units, game consoles, home servers, network attached storage (NAS) and other devices connected in the home.
Device types
Internet and TV connection at home
Technology is constantly changing, as are the needs of modern households. Where once an internet connection via telephone cable was sufficient, today gigabit speeds are considered the standard.
With modern TVs running at 4K and 8K resolution comes the need for higher speeds. Our 10GB solution ensures that every device in the home can operate efficiently at its peak performance.

- smarthome devices (gateway)
- game consoles
- home servers or network attached storage (NAS)
Preparing for the future with a 10GB home network
Every year, new and improved technological solutions are launched, often requiring more data and a more powerful internet connection. In a world where every aspect of our lives is increasingly digitalized – from entertainment, education, work to healthcare and communication – it is crucial to have a strong and reliable network infrastructure.
- High-quality streaming in 4K and 8K
- Augmented and virtual reality (AR and VR)
- Home automation with smart devices
- Cloud technologies
- Expansion of IoT (Internet of Things)
The importance of a stable connection when streaming TV
When watching TV over the internet, it is worth remembering that even if it is possible to connect the TV to your home Wi-Fi network, this may not be the optimal solution. High data consumption can quickly overload the network. Therefore, it is recommended to use a wired connection for more stable transmission.
When designing home wiring, it is important to prepare not only electrical but also internet cables in rooms where a TV could be placed, for example in the living room . It is also a good idea to think ahead and prepare connections in the bedroom or bathroom , in case the client decides to place it in such a location in the future .
High-quality WiFi coverage in the home
Another aspect to consider is the WiFi coverage in the home. In the case of single-family homes or larger apartments, one WiFi router is often insufficient for overall coverage.
Therefore, it is necessary to properly plan the placement of routers and create a WiFi coverage map so that the Internet is accessible not only inside the house, but also in the external part, such as the garden, garage, or other areas where the family could spend time.
Network topology and technical room
It is important that the network topology is designed to take into account future technological requirements and ensure stable and fast connections in all parts of the house.
Typically, the main Internet connection is received from the telecommunications operator, which is terminated in a technical room, for example in the garage. From there, the cables are distributed to the individual rooms of the house in the form of a star connection structure. In the technical room, a rack with a switch is located, which redistributes the Internet signal to the individual rooms.
The goal of placing devices in a technical room is to minimize noise generated by devices such as NVRs, switches, and routers that require active cooling.
Camera systems and PoE
Camera systems are increasingly integrated into home internet wiring. In many cases, they use PoE (Power over Ethernet) technology, which allows power to be transmitted along with data to devices over a standard Ethernet cable (usually Category 5 or higher), eliminating the need for a separate power cable.
Additional requirements:
- Cable connections should be pre-prepared at the corners of the house or roof, where cameras are usually placed.
- Due to noise, the data storage for camera recordings, NVR, should be located in the technical room.

What to look out for when planning cabling?
❗When designing cable networks, keep in mind that the cable can be in the wall for 50 years. Choose a cable that meets today's requirements and ensures high speeds in the future.
❗The network topology should be centralized in the technical room where home servers and data storage are located.
❗When planning a project, it is necessary to determine in advance which devices will be powered via PoE and which will need a separate outlet.
❗The TV connection should be discreetly placed behind the TV for aesthetics to avoid running the cable across the entire room.
